Beaten Methuen woman brought out of coma

Posted: Updated:

METHUEN (AP) - Police have interviewed a 33-year-old Methuen woman found severely beaten in her home earlier this month but have not yet named any suspects.

Police Chief Joseph Solomon says two detectives conducted a brief interview with Sarah Plazola on Monday evening at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston shortly after she was brought out of a medically-induced coma. They plan on talking to her again.

Plazola was flown to the hospital July 10 after police responded to a 911 call from her live-in boyfriend. Solomon tells The Eagle-Tribune (http://bit.ly/OXjw85 ) her injuries were almost fatal and her beating was not a random act.

Solomon says police have not identified any suspects, and are awaiting results from forensic evidence collected at the scene, including blood and fingerprints.
