(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – It's decision day in Arlington regarding the town's ban on leaf blowers.
A special election in Arlington will be held Thursday to in an effort to lift the ban on leaf blowers.
The ban was initially approved back in May and banned the use of leaf blowers in Arlington between mid-May and mid-October.
Town lawmakers voted to ban the tools on private land because of the noise and dust kicked up by the equipment.
The special election will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
More than 1,400 absentee ballots have already been turned in by Arlington residents. Town officials say that's a record.
