ENFIELD, CT (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) A Massachusetts State Police trooper is accused of driving under the influence after allegedly being found passed out inside his car in Enfield, Connecticut.

Daniel Sheehan, 46, was arrested around 12:51 a.m. on Saturday after the 2002 Cadillac Escalade he was in was found on the side of Taylor Road in Enfield. A police officer allegedly found Sheehan asleep inside the vehicle.

A patrol supervisor also responded to the scene and both officers conducted sobriety tests on Sheehan. They concluded that Sheehan showed signs of impairment and placed him under arrest.

Sheehan posted $500 cash bail at the Enfield Police station. He will be arraigned on July 30 on charges of operating under the influence and marked lanes violation.

Mass. State Police spokesperson David Procopio says Sheehan is assigned to the Russell Barracks and graduated from the State Police Academy in 2002.
