
A storm system moving through Massachusetts Tuesday afternoon was producing heavy downpours, lightning and 1-inch diameter hail in some areas.
FOX 25 meteorologist Kevin Lemanowicz said a powerful storm moved through southern Worcester County at about 3:45 p.m. Another storm hit Boston's north shore at about the same time.
Lemanowicz said the storms were producing wind gusts as high as 50 to 60 mph and large hail was falling in some places.
Severe thunderstorm watches were in effect until 8 p.m. for the following counties: Barnstable, Bristol, Dukes, Essex, Franklin, Hampden, Hampshire, Middlesex, Nantucket, Norfolk, Plymouth, Suffolk and Worcester.
