Fenway sausage vendor accused of pre-cooking food in parking garage

Posted: Updated:

BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) A Fenway Park sausage vendor's business was recently shut down after investigators allegedly discovered he was grilling his sausages inside a residential parking garage in Brookline before serving them to the public.

Wicked Local is reporting that Michael D. Fleischman was sent a letter on July 17 asking him to remove all food and cooking equipment from a St. Paul Street garage. Investigators sent Fleischman, who is the owner of Flash 8 Catering and runs a sausage cart at Fenway, the letter after receiving an anonymous tip about the illegal operation. He did not have the proper licensing to operate the business.

Investigators claim they found beverages and water bottles stored on floors that were covered by soil and grease. They also say they found evidence of rodent activity on the floor near refrigeration units, as well as grease and dirt buildup on food contact surfaces.

Owners of the parking garage say there is no longer any food in the building and there will be no cooking done there in the future.
