CHELMSFORD (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Michael Santaniello won $1 million in the state lottery three years ago, on Tuesday he was arrested.

The 60-year-old was the focus of a fraud investigation. Investigators said Santaniello scammed at least 10 people out of $10 thousand. One of the victims was 87-years-old, investigators said.

Prosecutors said Santaniello, the owner of Mike's Oil Heat Service, promised work to customers and took cash but never showed up to finish the project.

Police said they found him when they spotted a rental car he reportedly did not return.

Santaniello will be in court Friday.
