A Mendon woman says she jumped for her life to escape a man who had broken into her home.

Police said William Paicopoulos broke into the woman's home on Cemetery Street early Wednesday morning. Police said Paicopoulos surprised the woman, who was asleep on her couch.

The woman told him that she needed to use the bathroom and jumped from the window when she got inside.

Officers said they found the man hiding in the woods near the woman's home with some dangerous items.
