Brothers in critical condition after Wareham stabbing

WAREHAM (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - Two brothers from Bridgewater are in critical condition after being stabbed early Sunday morning in Wareham, police said.

Officers responded to the intersection of Hardy Street and Priscilla Avenue in Wareham around 3:32 a.m. on Sunday.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found two males, 18-year-old Brendon J. Mahoney and 19-year-old Brian P. Mahoney, with apparent stab wounds lying on the dirt roadway.

The victims were transported to a local hospital and later transferred to a Rhode Island hospital for further treatment. They are listed in critical condition.

Police arrested 18-year-old Bryan Grassie, of East Wareham, in connection with the stabbings around 8:55 a.m.   

Grassie is being charged with two counts of assault with intent to murder and two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.  He will be arraigned on Monday in the Wareham District Court.
