(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Melissa's Bill has been stalled on Beacon Hill for 13 years. The bill's main purpose is to keep repeat violent offenders in prison for life.
The House and the Senate passed the bill, but this weekend, Gov. Deval Patrick sent it back with an amendment that would give judges more discretion in sentencing.
Les Gosule stopped by the FOX 25 Morning News to talk about the bill, which is named for his daughter, Melissa, who was kidnapped, raped and murdered at the hands of a career criminal out on parole.
