
PLYMOUTH (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - The National Weather Service on Monday confirmed an EF0 tornado hit Plymouth on July 24.
Weather service officials said three waterspouts formed off of the coast of Manomet at about 4:06 p.m. According to officials, the waterspouts moved onto White Horse Beach at about 4:08 p.m. and moved about 45 yards before dissipating.
Officials said that when a waterspout moves onshore it is technically considered a tornado.
According to NWS officials, the tornado's maximum wind speed was about 65 mph, the minimum required to be considered an EF0 tornado.
Damage was limited to a broken window, a damaged beach umbrella and damaged awnings at some homes.
There were no injuries.
