BOSTON (AP) - U.S. Sen. Scott Brown has been promoted to colonel in the
National Guard.
The Massachusetts Republican's colonel insignia were pinned to his uniform
during a ceremony in Washington on Wednesday by Arizona senator and former
Republican presidential candidate John McCain.
Brown has been in the National Guard for more than three decades, most
recently as a lieutenant colonel.
The Sun Chronicle reports that Brown said
it was "an honor to have the opportunity to serve."
Brown recently transferred from the Massachusetts Army National Guard to a
unit in Maryland, allowing him to work at the Pentagon.
