FDA approves smart pill that tracks medicine intake

CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
If you have trouble remembering to take your daily pill regimen, there's a new pill that actually lets you know whether or not you've taken it that day.
The technology places tiny silicon chips in each pill that contain magnesium and copper. That mix of metals generates an electric charge when its exposed to stomach acid.
That charge makes its way to a patch on the skin, which transmits a notification that the pill has been taken to your doctor.
So far, the FDA has only approved the device for use with placebos.
