BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) Environmental officials are asking some New England residents to exercise caution as high ozone levels and poor air quality is predicted for parts of the region on Friday.
The unhealthy air quality is expected to impact most of Connecticut, central Massachusetts, and coastal New Hampshire.
Officials say elevated ozone levels can cause breathing problems for those with pre-existing lung ailments and make others more susceptible to respiratory infection.
The Environmental Protection Agency asks the public to help reduce ozone effects during this period of unhealthy air quality by using public transportation or car pooling, as well as refraining from using small gasoline powered engines in the form of lawn mowers, power washers, and leaf blowers.
