"Tanning Mom" has stepped away from UV lights

(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – A New Jersey mother who made headlines for her love of tanning has backed away from the UV lights.

Patricia Krentcil accepted a challenge from In Touch magazine, daring her to lay off the rays for a whole month.

Krentcil told the magazine she feels "weird and pale," but says everyone tells her she looks better. She does admit to sneaking in a tan every now and again.

Krentci denies ever letting her young daughter into a tanning booth with her.
