
AUBURN, Mass. - Massachusetts Department of Transportation officials said a crash that happened on the Massachusetts Turnpike late Monday morning will impact traffic through the evening.
Two lanes of the westbound side of Interstate 90 as well as the breakdown lane were closed Monday at mile marker 89 in Auburn. Officials said a tractor-trailer and a car were involved in the crash that happened just before noon.
Officials said traffic was backed up near Worcester.
Emergency officials said two people had life-threatening injuries.
Another crash was reported just after 11 a.m. in Oxford approximately two miles prior to the crash in Auburn. A car went into the median. There were no injuries.
