TROY, Mich. (WJBK) -

33-year-old Aaron Frederick-William Lingeman, already a convicted sex offender, is now charged with the lewdest of behavior.  On Saturday, store security at an Old Navy in Troy spotted him with a camera and watched him go behind a display in the young girls' section where he allegedly pulled down his pants and engaged in a sex act while watching a little girl who was shopping.  Store security called police.

"We found him in the store.  We took him outside.  We were talking to him.  He gave us a name.  That name didn't match anything," said Captain Robert Redmond.

Troy Police scanned his fingerprints and found out his real identity, a registered sex offender with a history of criminal sexual conduct and being a sexually delinquent person.

Officers initially confronted him inside the store.  He tried to run.  They managed to get him into handcuffs and into a police car.  That's when they say he really lost it.

"As the officer was driving into the station, he broke free of the seat belt and kicked the windows out of the rear of the car.  Other officers had to quickly respond to catch up to him there and take him back into custody," Redmond explained.

In his car police found girls' underwear, cameras and photos, as well as a toolbox in the trunk that contained a wig, makeup and more underwear.

He's now charged with indecent exposure, malicious destruction of police property and resisting and obstructing.  Bond was set at $50,000.

"He's been caught, and he's looking at doing some substantial time when we convict him," Redmond said.

As parents start their back to school shopping, it's a serious reminder about safety.

"It doesn't concern me because I don't let them go in without me, to be honest," said Christine Russell.

"I never take my eyes off the kids anyway, but now I can't believe it's going to be something that's going to be continuing," said Chris Glaub.  "Hopefully this was just some kind of crazy guy that got caught."
