(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - A Maine
man who claimed to be heading to New
Hampshire to kill a former boss when he was pulled
over for speeding on July 22 will get a mental exam that his family says he
desperately needs.
A judge postponed bail for Timothy Courtois on Tuesday pending a forensic exam.
Maine State Police allegedly found a stockpile of weapons in Courtois' car when
they pulled him over. He told police
that he was heading to kill a former boss, and he had brought a handgun to a
showing of The Dark Knight Rises on July 21.
Troopers said they also found newspaper clippings about the massacre in Colorado that had
occurred just two days prior.
Even
in the unlikely event that Courtois had been released on bail, he would have
faced immediate re-arrest as a result of federal weapons charges related to
this same case.
