Boston Mayor Thomas Menino is weighing in on a controversial art mural in Boston's Dewey Square.
The mural which is situated above the Rose Kennedy Greenway depicts a boy with
a shirt wrapped around his head and wearing pajama pants.
Some claimed the art featured a terrorist, and not a child in
pajamas.
"We got enough division in our country today. We don't need somebody
out there to divide us and saying that's a racist thing, that's against a
religion. It isn't," said Mayor Menino. "That was art
made to show a young boy out there and that's what I believe it is."
The mayor told FOX 25 that good art is supposed to get people
talking.
The mural is one of three done by Brazilian artists Os Gemeos. It's part
of their show at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston.
