Posted: Updated:

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — A federal judge is allowing the bankruptcy case involving Curt Schilling's video gaming company to move from a court in Delaware to one in Rhode Island.

The Providence Journal reports that a judge in Wilmington on Wednesday granted a request by lawyers for the state of Rhode Island to move 38 Studios' bankruptcy proceedings to state court in Providence

Attorney Tom Carlotto says it will be cheaper to handle the legal matters in Rhode Island. The company's headquarters was in Providence.

38 Studios was lured from Massachusetts in 2010 with a $75 million loan guarantee from the state's economic development agency.

The company laid off all of its employees in May and filed for bankruptcy in June.
