BOSTON (AP) - Massachusetts Democrats are ramping up their targeting of Republican congressional hopeful Richard Tisei.
Democrats on Thursday launched a new website they say details Tisei's family's "complex web of real estate-related businesses."
Tisei, a former state senator and Republican candidate for lieutenant governor, is challenging Democratic incumbent U.S. Rep. John Tierney.
Tierney has had to defend himself from claims by his two brothers-in-law that he had been aware of the illegal nature of their offshore gambling operation.
The Salem Democrat, seeking a ninth term in Congress, has said he was aware of the gambling business in Antigua but for years had believed it was legitimate.
Democrats are hoping to raise questions about Tisei instead.
Republicans see the race as their best chance to win back a U.S. House seat in Massachusetts.
