Sports Producer (Full-Time)

WFXT is currently seeking a Sports Producer to supervise the sports department, including daily sports coverage and long-range planning. The Producer will oversee production of all sports coverage and work closely with sports personnel to generate quality sports stories to maintain and grow audience share. The Producer will use sound editorial judgment in the selection of sports stories and must be innovative and give context to sports story telling. Will be responsible for producing High School Friday segments both live and on tape.

Qualified candidates require a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of three years sports producing experience. Knowledge of New England sports is strongly preferred. Proven editorial and creative judgment required. Must have the ability to manage staff and make sound editorial decisions on show content and structure. Familiarity with newsroom computer programs is essential (Photoshop, Avid). Excellent writing, organization and communication skills are also required. Ability to work in a fact-paced environment under strict deadlines and schedule flexibility is essential. Qualified Candidates should have at leas one year experience on Avid News Cutter. Knowledge of the ISIS server environment is a plus.
