Harvard University police investigate report of rape

(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Harvard University police are investigating after a female reported she was raped early Friday morning in Harvard Yard.

It happened around 3:15 a.m. The victim, who is not affiliated with the school, told police she was grabbed while entering the Yard through the Johnston Gate and was pulled behind Massachusetts Hall and attacked.

The victim described the attacker as a very tanned, possible Hispanic male in his mid-20s. He was 5'7" with a medium build, had dark hair and was wearing a white shirt.

The incident remains under investigation.

The Harvard University Police Department has increased its police presence in and around the Yard and surrounding campus.
