Man wanted on warrants in five Mass. communities arrested in Quincy

QUINCY (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) A 22-year-old Sandwich man was arrested in Quincy on six outstanding warrants Saturday.

Members of the Barnstable Street Crime Unit traveled to Quincy to arrest Max B. Cataneo after he reportedly fled to the city to elude police. Investigators say that when they arrived to the home where Cataneo was staying, the 22-year-old attempted to run. He was arrested following a brief chase.

The 22-year-old is accused of breaking into several homes on the Cape in the past few months and stealing jewelry.

Cataneo faces charges that include possession of burglarious tools and destruction of property over $250, breaking and entering the in the daytime, assault with a dangerous weapon, defacing property, and possession with intent to distribute a class C substance (mushrooms). The charges stem from warrants out of Sandwich, Plymouth, Boston, Bourne, and Barnstable.

Cataneo will be arraigned on Monday in Barnstable District Court.
