
BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – The debate over the decades-old ban on "Happy Hour" is picking back up.
Massachusetts banned free and discounted alcohol drink specials 28 years ago.
The Boston Herald reports that some lawmakers are fighting to abolish the ban so bars can better compete when casinos open for business.
Several groups, including Mothers Against Drunk Driving, oppose the idea.
The Alcohol Beverage Control Commission will hold a series of public forums on the across the state beginning this month to get feedback from the public.
The casino law requires the ABCC to finish a study by January 31, 2013.
