BOSTON (AP) - The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is throwing its support behind Massachusetts Sen. Scott Brown in his re-election bid against Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren.
The group, which consists of 300,000 business leaders across the country, endorsed Brown on Wednesday at the Harry Miller Co., a custom canvas and fabric manufacturer in Boston's Roxbury neighborhood.
Rob Engstrom, senior vice president of the chamber, says the group supports Brown based on the Republican's efforts to help business leaders.
Brown says his opponent refuses to acknowledge the hard work and entrepreneurship of business leaders. He says Warren supports government intervention in business.
Warren's campaign did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The business group has backed other GOP candidates nationally and is a fierce opponent of President Barack Obama's health care overhaul.
