WALTHAM (AP) - Police are looking for a Waltham man they say hijacked a car by threatening the driver with a syringe he claimed was filled with HIV-infected blood.

Police say the man took the vehicle from a woman outside a city pharmacy on Tuesday morning.

Using surveillance video, police identified the man as 30-year-old Scott Steverding. He is also a suspect in a robbery at a city gas station on Monday.

Police say when caught he faces charges of attempted murder, armed carjacking and assault by means of a dangerous weapon.

The driver of the car was not hurt.
