BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) Olympic gold medalist Aly Raisman was welcomed back to her gym in Massachusetts by a massive crowd on Thursday.
Dozens of young girls watched Raisman as she was photographed sporting her three Olympic medals outside of her gym in Burlington.
Raisman has been interacting with massive crowds during the less than 24 hours she has been back in Massachusetts. The 18-year-old Needham High School graduate was met at Logan Airport on Wednesday by friends, family, and fans. Needham residents signed a banner that congratulated the Olympian.
Raisman won a gold for team gymnastics, an individual gold for the floor routine, and an individual bronze in the balance beam. At the airport, Raisman spoke about what it is like to have her hands on those medals.
"I never imagined that I would have three medals so it means so much to me because I worked so hard so I'm really excited and really happy," says the 18-year-old.
Raisman describes the medals as "really, really heavy." She says she has been carrying them in her backpack and checking on them regularly to make sure they're still in the bag.
The teen will be back on the road again in just a couple of weeks to go on the "Team Kellogg's Tour" of the United States.
