LOWELL (FOX
25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – A young boy was taken away in an ambulance on Monday
night after being struck by a hit-and-run driver on Willow Street.
The young boy was crossing the street around 6:30 p.m. on Monday when he was
struck by the vehicle as it turned onto Willow Street from Andover Street.
Police are searching for the driver of a blue 2002 Saturn with a damaged or
missing side mirror.
Witnesses said the driver, who was the only person in the vehicle, appeared to
be in his 40s.
The boy
suffered non-life threatening injuries and is expected to recover.
