Maintenance to cause complete lane closures in Ted Williams Tunnel

BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is asking drivers to plan ahead for upcoming lane closures in the Ted Williams Tunnel.

Maintenance planned for the overnight hours of Tuesday, Aug. 21 into Wednesday, Aug. 22, will require complete lane closures on Interstate 90 westbound through Boston. Traffic will be diverted to the Sumner tunnel where detours are planned beginning at 11 p.m.

In addition to Tuesday's closures, portions of I-90 in Boston will also be closed on two dates in September.

September closures are as follows:

I-90 Eastbound Tues., Sept. 4 from 11p.m. to Wednesday, September 5 at 5 a.m.

I-90 Westbound Tues., Sept. 18 from 11p.m. to Wednesday, September 19 at 5 a.m.

Maintenance on I-93 is expected to continue in October.
