(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) Former Democratic state Senator Cheryl Jacques is accused of intentionally selling a pregnant woman incomplete baby supplies.
Jacques will be arraigned Tuesday on a misdemeanor charge of larceny by false pretense. Prosecutors say she sold an incomplete Pack 'n Play Playard on Craigslist and lied about not knowing all the parts were missing.
The Boston Herald reports that Jacques sold the portable crib on craigslist in May to a Sudbury woman. Jacques' lawyer says she gave what she had and offered to give the money back.
In March, the state's ethics committee ruled that Jacques violated the rules when she used her current position as a judge to get $1,000 worth of dental work written off for her brother-in-law.
