TEWKSBURY (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Police in Tewksbury caught a man they said escaped from a police cruiser, ran into a nearby home and attempted to hide in a laundry room there.

Police said they stopped a car that contained Jonathan Miller, 29 and his wife, Amanda Miller, 23 on Shawsheen Road Monday morning after receiving a tip that the two had stolen something from a another driver.

Police put the couple in separate cruisers and drove away with Amanda Miller. Before they could leave with Jonathan Miller, they said he busted out of the cruiser and ran.

He was found a short time later after a homeowner found him in the laundry room of his home and made him leave.

Police also said they found jewelry that had been reported stolen from another home on Shawsheen Road in the back of the suspects' car.

He was arrested on breaking and entering charges as well as a previous warrant for "knowingly being present in a home where heroin is kept."

Amanda Miller was arrested on breaking and entering charges in connection with the jewelry that was found in the cruiser.

Both will be arraigned Tuesday.

A K-9 team, the Massachusetts State Police Air Wing, and three patrols from the State Police Barracks in Andover were involved in the search.
