MyFoxBoston.com) – Police in Boston
are searching for a male suspect who reportedly held a victim at gunpoint on
Sunday night and demanded the victim surrender his car.
The armed carjacking occurred at 62
Bird Street in Roxbury around 9:20 p.m. on Sunday
night.
The victim told police that he had just dropped off a family member in the area
and had pulled over to the side of the road. He got out of the car and was
sending a text message when the suspect approached him with a gun.
The suspect reportedly pointed the weapon at him and said, "Give it up! Give me the phone and the car key!" The victim complied, and the suspect fled on Virginia Street toward Dudley Street.
The suspect is described as a black male in his late teens or early 20′s. He is approximately 130 pounds. At the time of the carjacking, he was wearing a polo-type shirt and blue jeans. His hair was braided.
Officers canvassed the area and found the victim's motor vehicle, unoccupied, at the intersection of Standwood and Normandy Streets in Roxbury.
