TILTON, NH (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) A New Hampshire man is facing murder charges in the death of a child he had previously served time physically assaulting.
Bruce Watson, 46, of Bristol, NH, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with one count of reckless second degree murder in the death of Brian Wiggin.
Watson served time for second-degree assault after investigators accused him of shaking and throwing Brian Wiggin in Tilton, NH in December 1989. Wiggin, then only four and a half months old, sustained significant injuries that left him an immobile quadriplegic for the rest of his life.
According to a Seacoastonline.com article from 2002, Watson was Tammy Wiggin's boyfriend. He lived with Tammy and her son at the time of the assault.
After Wiggin's death in 2008, an autopsy revealed that he died as a result of the injuries he sustained from the 1989 assault. Watson was arrested on Tuesday after investigators ruled Wiggin's death a homicide.
