New Yorkers with deep pockets along with NBA legend Michael Jordan and a handful of current and past basketball stars will join President Barack Obama in New York City Wednesday evening to raise money for his re-election campaign.

Mr. Obama rolls into town at about 6 p.m. when Air Force One touches down at the Wall Street Heliport, according to traffic guru 'Gridlock' Sam Schwartz.

The President's motorcade will likely travel from Wall Street to the Upper East Side, Upper West Side and to Columbus Circle.

Jordan will co-host a dinner for the President at the Time Warner Center. More than 100 donors paid $20,000 per person to attend, according to the AP.

He is also expected at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center at about 7 p.m.

Drivers should anticipate major traffic tie-ups along the FDR Drive south of East 96th Street, every avenue from First Ave. to Fifth Ave.; and Central Park West to Columbus Ave. The 65th St. transverse in Central Park will also be closed, adds Schwartz.

President Obama is scheduled to head back to the heliport at approximately 10 p.m.

Avoid the East Side, Central Park and FDR Drive south of East 96th Street between 9:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
