LONDONDERRY, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire State Police say a 14-year-old boy has been struck and killed on Interstate 93 after leaving a car that stopped in the breakdown lane.
State police say the boy got out of a car in the northbound emergency lane around 4:35 p.m. Wednesday and stepped into oncoming traffic. He was struck by another vehicle going northbound.
The boy was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other injuries.
Police did not release his identity. According to the Union Leader, the driver of the car the boy was in was his mother.
Both northbound lanes between exits 4 and 5 had been closed. They've since reopened.
