LYNN (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) An MBTA bus driver was taken to the hospital on Thursday night after being assaulted by a man in Lynn.

Lynn Police arrested a 33-year-old Everett man for allegedly punching a bus operator in Central Square.

An MBTA spokesperson says the man was charged with assault and battery.

The bus operator was taken to Union Hospital for treatment and another bus was brought in to cover the bus route.
