BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) A blockbuster deal between the Red Sox and the Dodgers is now complete.

Under the deal, the Sox send Adrian Gonzalez, Josh Beckett, Carl Crawford, and Nick Punto to Los Angeles in exchange for salary relief, minor league players, and first baseman James Loney.

In a statement about the trade on Saturday, Sox VP and General Manager Ben Cherington says the team will receive infielder Ivan DeJesus, right hander Allen Webster, and two players to be named later in the trade.

The deal is worth over $275 million to the Sox. However, the Dodgers will receive $12 million from the Sox over a six-year period.

Since the deal between the teams involves the injured Carl Crawford and also involves the Red Sox sending money to the Dodgers, Major League Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig must sign off on it. There are several reports that the deal was sitting on Selig's desk on Saturday morning.

Gonzalez, a former San Diego Padres star, said on Twitter in English and Spanish that he was excited to get back to California. Beckett joined the social media site to thank Red Sox fans.

Nick Punto also took to Twitter on Saturday to confirm the trade, "@shredderpunto: #dodgers doing it first class!" The tweet was accompanied by a photo of himself alongside Beckett and Gonzalez on an airplane.
