
YARMOUTH (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Police have identified the suspect reportedly involved in a hit and run accident that seriously injured a 50-year-old pedestrian on Route 28 in West Yarmouth on Sunday night.
In a release, the Yarmouth Police Department identified the suspect as a 28-year-old man from Dennis. They also identified the vehicle involved in the crash: a 2000 Jeep Cherokee.
Police are conducting interviews and are hoping to obtain a search warrant.
The Yarmouth Police and Fire Departments responded to the crash involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Route 28 and Wendward Way around 7:58 p.m.
Upon arrival, police located Donna M. Logan lying in the eastbound lane of Route 28 near Wendward Way. She sustained a broken femur, as well as head and facial injuries, and was transported to Cape Cod Hospital.
According to police, the victim and her boyfriend had been drinking alcohol earlier in the evening and were walking hand in hand on the sidewalk when suddenly the victim fell into the roadway and was struck.
The case remains under investigation.
