GARDNER (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) - A man who reportedly took his son and ran into the woods is now in police custody and the child is safe.
The incident was considered a custodial kidnapping because the child was with one of his parents.
Massachusetts State Police told FOX 25 the mother of a 20-month-old child called 911 on Tuesday morning to report that the father took the baby and ran off into the woods.
According to the Worcester Telegram and Gazette, the 22-year-old father and the child's mother apparently had a dispute. The child was taken from a day care center.
A State Police K-9 team aided in the search.
