BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) A suspect has been arrested for murder in the stabbing death of a 24-year-old man in Boston.
Jahvon Goodwin, 21, of Boston was arrested on Wednesday morning for the murder of Rashad Lesley-Barnes.
Investigators accused Goodwin of stabbing Lesley-Barnes on Aug. 5 after the 24-year-old got off of an MBTA bus in the area of 65 Warren Street. Lesley-Barnes was transported to Boston Medical Center where he was later pronounced deceased.
Goodwin's arrest comes after investigators released a series of surveillance images to the public asking for help in identifying a person of interest in the murder.
There is speculation as to what led to the deadly altercation. Lesley-Barnes' sister, Laya, told FOX 25's Nicole Jacobs in an interview last week that there are reports her brother was attacked over his sneakers. She told Jacobs that the 24-year-old was stabbed when he exited the bus and was then chased and stabbed again before he collapsed in front of the library near Warren Street in Roxbury.
Goodwin was scheduled for arraignment on Wednesday in Roxbury District Court.
