BILLERICA (AP) - Police say a plaque that commemorates the day in 1775
when key Revolutionary War figures John Hancock and Samuel Adams hid from
British soldiers in a Billerica home has gone missing.
Police say the bronze plaque marking the site of the Amos Wyman Homestead was
reported missing Monday but may have been removed before then, possibly by
someone who intended to sell it as scrap. Police say bronze sells for about
$1.65 per pound.
