MARTHA's VINEYARD (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – The cab driver who drove Elizabeth Warren on Martha's Vineyard says he overreacted when confronted by a Republican tracker, but claims he was trying to protect his 4-year-old daughter.
Morgan Reitzas say his daughter was in the back seat of a cab transporting Democratic Senate candidate Warren at an event in Oak Bluffs on Sunday afternoon.
A Republican tracker covering the event followed Warren to the cab. Reitzas reacted and confronted the tracker placing his hand over the lens, and the camera eventually fell to the ground.
The video gained national attention when it was posted on YouTube.
In a press conference on Wednesday, Reitzas said through is attorneys that he was looking out for his daughter and not Warren. He said he does not work for the Warren campaign and is not friends with her.
Warren's campaign said earlier this week that he was not a member of their staff.
The cab driver is not facing charges; however, Oak Bluffs officials are looking into whether his driver's license will be revoked.
