BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – A fire which started
in the kitchen of the Gaga Seafood Restaurant in Chinatown damaged the
four-story building and displaced 24 residents.
Firefighters responded to 25 Tyler Street around 9:46 a.m. on
Thursday for a reported fire. The fire was called in by a member of Boston's Fire Alarm Construction
crew that maintains the street emergency fire boxes.
Upon arrival, crews searched the building and had the
fire knocked down 10:35 a.m. They believe the fire started in the kitchen and
traveled to the upper floors.
Fire officials said there were seven apartments above the Gaga Seafood
Restaurant and that 24 residents were displaced.
No injuries were reported.
Fire investigators are on scene looking into the point of origin and cause.
