CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WJBK) -
Crews worked to extinguish a fire that consumed several units of an apartment complex in Clinton Township earlier Friday.
Investigators say the fire broke out around 9:40 a.m. on the third floor of The Harbours Apartments along Heydenreich Road just south of Hall Road.
High winds quickly spread the two-alarm blaze, but firefighters were in good position to contain the flames. Investigators say the building's top four units are a total loss. The eight units below suffered water and smoke damage.
Two firefighters were treated on the scene for heat exhaustion. A disabled resident suffered mild smoke inhalation but is expected to be ok.
