BOSTON (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) A South Boston woman brought members of the community together on Saturday with a creative game aimed at raising funds for a VFW post in the neighborhood.
Victoria Montemayor created a project called the Scavenger in Southie. Montemayor tells FOX 25 the game was designed to expose participants to the best parts of Southie, including historical landmarks and local businesses.
The 27-year-old, who says she is not affiliated with the organization, hopes the scavenger hunt will raise funds for the VFW Post 6536. While the event was free, Montemayor asked participants to give a donation to the VFW.
Montemayor says the ultimate goal is to expose residents to the VFW and get them thinking about local veterans.
