Police in Carver responded to 208
Plymouth Road around 7:37 p.m. on Saturday and
found the pickup truck submerged in the pond with only its tires showing.
Peter Grover, 66, was pulled from the car by off-duty firefighter Adam Johnson. Johnson performed CPR, and when police arrived, Grover was breathing on his own. He was transported to Jordan Hospital.
The fire department was called to the scene to assist in controlling the
fuel spillage. The car was righted and removed from the bog.
Police said alcohol played a factor in the crash; however, a breathalyzer test
was not administered. Police found beer cans floating in the bog and issued
Grover a criminal citation.
Grover is expected to appear in court on Tuesday.
