
ATTLEBORO (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Police in Attleboro are investigating a fatal fire that occurred at a single-family home on Woodstock Road early Monday morning.
Firefighters responded to 107 Woodstock Road after receiving an emergency call around 1 a.m. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy flames coming from the back of the home.
A neighbor attempted to use a ladder to rescue the homeowner, but he was unsuccessful.
Officials say the man who died was in his 30's; however, they have not yet released his name.
People who live on the street told FOX 25 that the victim was friendly and would speak to everyone while walking his dog in the neighborhood.
Fire officials confirmed that at least one of the dogs made it out alive. It is unclear how many dogs were in the home.
The victim's father died about two years ago, and he lived at the home with his mother and dogs. His mother was not home when the fire occurred.
The home was one of the first built on the street.
