Police said Monday that Aaron Mentkowski of Wallingford, Conn., died after the plane crashed for unknown reasons with two other Connecticut residents on board.
Police said 54-year-old Dianne Palmeri and 55-year-old Albert Rossini, both of Guilford, Conn., were being treated at Boston hospitals Monday for life-threatening burn injuries. Fire officials say the couple was learning to fly.
Officials said the plane took off Saturday from Tweed-New Haven Airport in Connecticut and crashed while attempting to land at Falmouth Air Park.
National Transportation Safety Board investigators arrived at the scene
Sunday. A spokesman said Monday that the board won't issue a probable cause of
the crash for at least a year.
