BOSTON (AP) - A new survey finds more optimism among employers about business conditions in the state.
The monthly business confidence index compiled by Associated Industries of Massachusetts rose three points in August to 55.2. The index works on a scale of 100, with a reading above 50 indicating that employers feel more positive than negative about the economy.
Over the last two months the index has regained most of the 8.5 point loss it sustained in June.
The chair of AIM's Board of Economic Advisors, Raymond Torto, says while there are still "persistent uncertainties" in the economy, current business conditions appear to be "generally positive."
