Elected official caught drinking, working side job, loses primary battle

Posted: Updated:

(FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston.com) – Voters tossed the $90,000-a-year Register of Deeds out of office in yesterday's primary election after a FOX Undercover investigation last year found the elected official drinking and working at his private law practice during the workday.
Robert F. Kelley, the Northern Essex Register of Deeds, defended his work record to FOX Undercover but faced four challengers to the post, all of whom promised to work full-time at the job.
His sole primary challenger, Paul Iannuccillo, is claiming victory over Kelley in yesterday's Democratic primary. Iannuccillo now faces three other candidates in November's general election.
